Private
Your yacht. Your itinerary. Your people. No lobby, no other guests, no fixed hours.
The U Experience, Untethered
A private resort that moves.
U Yachts extends the U Hotels & Resorts experience from land to sea — combining private yachting, boutique hospitality and the freedom to explore Southeast Asia.
Every U property is built on one idea: the guest sets the terms. Breakfast whenever, wherever. A room that is yours for a full 24 hours. A library, a bicycle, a pillow you chose before you arrived.
None of that requires a building.
Your yacht. Your itinerary. Your people. No lobby, no other guests, no fixed hours.
Wake up somewhere different every morning. The view changes while you sleep.
Restaurant-quality dining, wherever you happen to be anchored. Cooked aboard, from markets ashore.
Wellness, swimming, sunsets and complete privacy. The deck is empty unless you fill it.
Access bays, reefs and villages that no hotel can be built beside.
Seamless transfers and one hospitality standard, from the airport to the anchorage and back.
The yacht is not transport. It is the destination — and it is already where you want to be tomorrow.
A night at a U property before departure.
Private car and tender. One handover, not four.
Crew, cabins, kitchen. Check-in at sea.
A new anchorage each morning.
Reefs, villages, dinners, nothing at all.
Back ashore, into the same guest relationship.
The first U Yacht
Proposed
No vessel has been acquired. The specification below describes the class of luxury catamaran the pilot assumes — stable, shallow-draught, and built around outdoor living rather than speed.
One party at a time. Never shared.
Each with private facilities.
52 ft. Shallow draught — bays a monohull cannot enter.
Marine-qualified, U hospitality-trained.
Aboard: private dining indoors and out, a flybridge for sundowners, daily housekeeping, paddleboards, snorkelling and diving equipment, and space set aside for treatments and practice. A boutique resort of twelve guests, with a shorter walk to the water.
A hotel is fixed to the best site someone could buy. A yacht is not. The pilot cruising ground is a two-hour sail from a runway and a lifetime from a lobby.

Lombok and the wider Palawan archipelago follow the same logic. The cruising grounds are chosen for water and weather; the hotels come later, or not at all.
Anyone can charter a catamaran in Phuket. Almost nobody can put a hotel's service culture on it, fill it from an existing guest base, and send those guests back ashore into their own rooms.
A recognised boutique hospitality brand with an established guest relationship and a clear promise — uncomplicated, inspiring, built around the guest rather than the building.
Eleven U properties operating across Thailand, Laos and India; a brand rule capping every property at 200 rooms.
Hotels, direct booking channels, an existing website, a loyalty relationship and established travel-trade partners. A new yacht does not need a new audience — it needs a new line on an existing one.
Distribution is the single largest cost most independent charter operators carry. U already owns it.
Service standards, food and beverage capability, housekeeping discipline and guest-experience design. The parts of yachting that charter companies find hardest are the parts a hotel group does every day.
The U Choose Programme, The U Library, breakfast “whenever wherever”, 24-hour use of the room — service concepts that translate directly to a vessel.
Hotel guests become yacht guests. Yacht guests become hotel guests. One relationship, two products, and a night on either side of every voyage.
U's coastal properties today sit on the Gulf — Pattaya, Jomtien, Khao Chi Chan and Hua Hin — with Koh Chang in the pipeline.
The strategic point
U has no property on the Andaman coast. That is not a gap in the argument — it is the argument.
A yacht reaches Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi and Phang Nga without land, planning permission or capital works. It is the fastest way for U to hold a position on Thailand's most valuable coastline — and it can be moved to the Gulf, to Koh Chang, or out of the country entirely if the numbers say so.
A new hospitality experience
A new revenue stream
A brand extension
Another U destination
A separate investment and ownership company acquires or leases the vessels and carries the capital. The asset sits off the hotel group's balance sheet.
U Hotels & Resorts, with an experienced hospitality and marine management team, provides the brand, the distribution, the hospitality standard and day-to-day operation.
U contributes what it already has and is already paid for. It does not buy a boat to find out whether people want one.
Potential revenue streams
No pricing, revenue or return figures are modelled here. Those belong in a feasibility study, not on a website.
A single catamaran, based in Phuket, run to U standards for one full season. Five questions get answered with real guests and real money before anyone commits to a fleet.
Do U's guests — and the wider market — actually book it?
What does a night aboard genuinely command in this region?
How many nights a year can one vessel realistically sell?
Does it meet the standard the brand already promises ashore?
What does it truly cost to run at that standard?
Scale only once all five have answers.
Thailand
Andaman coast and the Gulf. One vessel, one season, five answers.
Indonesia
Bali, Lombok, Komodo — longer passages, bigger horizons.
Philippines
Palawan, El Nido, Coron. The archipelago as one cruising ground.
Multiple destinations
A network of cruising grounds across Southeast Asia, linked by season and weather.
Multiple yachts
Added one at a time, each earning its place before the next.
One hospitality standard
The same service culture on every vessel, and ashore.
One booking ecosystem
Hotels and yachts on the same channels, the same direct relationship.
One guest relationship
A guest who stays and a guest who sails are the same guest.
One promise
Uncomplicated. Inspiring. You. — the same three words, on water.

This proposal is presented for discussion with U Hotels & Resorts. The natural next step is a feasibility study covering vessel sourcing, licensing, crewing, seasonality and unit economics for a single Phuket-based pilot.
